“When you least expect it, Nature has cunning ways of finding our weakest spot…Right now you may not want to feel anything. Perhaps you never wished to feel anything…But feel something you obviously did. …If there is pain, nurse it. And if there is a flame, don’t snuff it out. Don’t be brutal with it. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster…But to make yourself feel nothing so as not to feel anything ― what a waste!” - André Aciman

Do you feel disconnected & detached? Are you struggling to find peace & security with yourself or in your relationships? Our minds & bodies are interdependent- so reliant on one another that they often try to protect themselves by splitting apart or shutting down. Pain, loss, & stress are unavoidable & it can be so tempting to numb ourselves to try to minimize their impact. Inevitably, we numb the good along with the bad.

As a Master in Social Work and licensed clinician I’ve worked with clients of all ages and circumstances, but have dedicated much of my personal study over the years to sex and relationship dynamics. In my private practice, I specialized in working with clients who are in relationship transitions. Some may be seeking conscious uncoupling, navigating painful breakups, identifying and understanding patterns in romantic or platonic relationships, shifting from monogamy into polyamory or other partnership structures, or working to better understand their own bodies when it comes to sex, sexuality, and gender experiences alone and with peers or partners.

Whether you have a specific goal in mind, need someone to offer blanket support, or seek to learn and practice new skills, I can incorporate interventions from a variety of modalities, including compassion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, art therapy, EFT-tapping, attachment-based therapy, Gestalt, eclectic therapy, somatic therapy, and mindfulness & guided meditation. We all need something different to tap into our unique healing and growth. Vulnerability is uncomfortable at best but so very necessary, & I would be honored to accompany you on a journey to find your way to face these challenges with confidence, strength, grace, & resilience.

I am happy you’re here, & I can’t wait to meet you!

My practice is person-centered, which means it is anti-capitalist and liberationist: for fat bodies, for LGBTQIA+ bodies, for disabled bodies, and for black and brown bodies first and foremost.

Dealing with challenges and stressors is an unavoidable part of our human experience, and it can certainly leave an unwanted impact in our life. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I aim to look at the whole person, understanding how all the aspects of our lives come together to impact our minds and bodies. Healing happens when all parts of the person are aligned and integrated.

I take a holistic, strengths-based approach to therapy, working with clients to improve distress tolerance and emotion regulation, heal their nervous system, and strengthen core beliefs and values. I am passionate about working with females; in adolescence, young adulthood, and into their 30s. My therapeutic orientation draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and somatic-based practices.

My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to express what is on their minds, learn beneficial coping skills, understand the mind-body connection, and build a sense of connection with themselves and others.

I believe counseling must be a collaborative effort in which the client and clinician work together to identify needs, concerns, aspirations, and to develop a clear vision for the work they are to do together. My role as a counselor is to help guide individuals through the process of discovering their inherent strengths and barriers which can involve identifying and working through past and/or present conflicts. Collaboration is a key element in my practice as we work together to build a healthy therapeutic relationship where we can experience trust, empathy, and acceptance, and respect for all parties involved.

The counseling process may look different for each client. The approach used and the length of treatment may vary due to individual needs and circumstances. Clients always have the right to stop counseling at any point in treatment and/or choose a different counselor. If the client need is outside of my scope of practice I will inform the client and refer when possible. The counseling process is not easy and there are no guarantees. Initially, it may be disruptive to the client’s emotional experiences and/or relationships, however, this is a normal part of the counseling process.

I graduated from Corban University with a Masters in Family Life Studies in 2014. Shortly upon graduation I began my counseling career with Youth Villages Intercept program, where I continue to provide intensive in home services to children and their families. In 2017, I decided to become a clinical supervisor with Youth Villages Intercept program. Currently (2020), I provide direct care to families and supervise. I am a trauma informed clinician certified in TF-CBT. I am also a collaborative problem solving certified clinician through Think Kids.

I am Morgan White, a Clinical Social Work Associate blessed to live in the beautiful Willamette Valley. I am a proud first generation Indigenous (Cherokee/Choctaw) female college graduate. I started my career in healthcare in a different realm of insurance and numbers. I enjoyed this, but changes in my home brought about a new calling; and I began a search to understand the effects of trauma on the body. This search led to my completion of both a bachelors and master’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in military social work.

During my career I have worked with young adults, elderly adults on hospice, and persons battling addiction. I have extensive professional and personal knowledge of Veteran culture and resources.

My therapy modalities are Attachment-based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), EMDR, Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness Based (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Trauma Focused CBT. I have a passion for working with mood disorders, thinking disorders, grief, trauma, PTSD, stress, and coping skills. My endeavor is to meet you where you are in your emotional journey through a strengths based, person-in-environment perspective, and collaborate with you on building an evidence-based treatment plan, or “road map” to where you would like your therapy to take you.

During my undergraduate studies, I was given a wonderfully unique opportunity to work closely with a registered play therapist. During this time, I learned evidence-based interventions centering around children’s unique need to express themselves through family systems therapy, play therapy and sand tray therapy. I am currently working with children ages 6-13.

Though everything I said before this is important, the key to healing and growth is a strong connection with your provider. Trust, safety, and respect are not items freely given; they are earned through the environment I create for you during our therapy sessions by being trauma-informed, and the relationship cultivated between us by my welcoming nature, my transparency, and the presence of my authentic self.

Hello, welcome to my Stronger Oregon Page! My name is Kristy McPeak (she/her/hers) and I'm a Professional Counselor Associate registered in the state of Oregon. I wanted to share a little bit about my educational background, therapeutic style and clients served.

My college experience began in 2012, when I graduated with a Certificate of Addiction Counseling, and later earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences with a Minor in Psychology. During that time, my work with adolescents and young adults in a variety of therapeutic, and non-profit settings led me to continue my educational journey, and in 2016 I received a Master’s in Counseling from Oregon State University, with an emphasis in both school and mental health counseling.

I enjoy working with clients across the life-span including children, adolescents, young people and adults. I have experience helping with anxiety, family and life transitions, addiction, teen pregnancy, depression, ADHD, trauma and loss.

My therapeutic style is rooted in compassion, person-centered, and collaborative in nature. I believe we all experience times where we need support, and it takes courage to reach out for help. Each of us has unique needs that can change over time, and counseling is individualized to each person’s situation. You are an important part of the therapeutic process, and the work that we do together. I place a great deal of value in the counseling relationship and believe you have inherent worth.

I strive to create a trauma-informed and supportive environment, where you feel valued and heard throughout the counseling process. I also honor the importance of mind and body wellness, taking a holistic approach. As counseling is individualized to meet the diverse needs of my clients, I use an integrative lens which includes using the following theoretical orientations: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Somatic and Art Therapy.

Choosing a therapist is a big decision, and I welcome the opportunity of working with you, your family or child. Please reach out if you have questions, or to schedule your first appointment.

I believe that everyone can reach an optimum state of health. I employ an eclectic (or including all kinds of therapy types) approach with a strong reliance on cognitive-behavioral aspects. I am trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, PCIT therapy, Infant/Toddler Mental Health, mindfulness techniques, and possess a certificate in Substance Abuse Treatment. I also have several years experience and training with sexual assault and domestic violence.

For my formal education and training; after completing my bachelor degree and obtaining a Substance Abuse Certificate, I realized I was not able to assist clients with trauma or other issues. So, I went back to school to get the degree I needed to be able to help all the people who came to me. Now, I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.

My career began with teenagers in residential treatment for substance abuse, after this I worked with a younger group of 5-11 year olds in residential treatment for behavior problems. From there I moved to adults with legal issues and substance abuse, while having a second job as a sexual assault counselor. I have worked with very young children, under 1 year old and their parents, as well as older adults who are in need of resolving old conflicts in their past so they can look forward to the future and all others in between.

The therapy techniques we use depend on you and what works best for you, this is a team effort with you in the lead. Let’s talk about how I can help you today. I welcome all ages and backgrounds.

"As an Indigenous therapist, I acknowledge that each person has unique challenges and strengths in navigating complex life experiences. My approach to therapy is grounded in a holistic perspective, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. I draw on evidence-based practices like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to provide personalized and culturally sensitive care.

My therapeutic style is collaborative and supportive. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear. Together, we'll work to develop coping skills, enhance self-awareness, and cultivate resilience. With a Master's degree in Applied Psychological Science focused on integrating counseling skills with research, and experience working with Indigenous communities, I bring a deep understanding of cultural nuances and systemic factors that impact mental health. I am committed to empowering clients to heal and grow and I believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. If you're ready to start therapy, I'm here to listen."

I believe all humans have the capacity for self-healing and utilize a holistic and collaborative counseling approach to facilitate this process. I am passionate about offering an empowering, mindful, and authentic space that supports the unique needs of individuals while honoring their journey toward optimal well-being.

I employ an eclectic approach that weaves together several therapeutic modalities to best serve the unique needs of each client. My style is based primarily in Person-Centered Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts Work, CBT, and Mindfulness. Depending on what is happening in your life, we can work together to tailor our time to best address your specific concerns in ways that feel right to you.

My background as a yoga and meditation teacher laid a strong foundation in attending to the complexities of the human experience in the physical, mental and emotional realms. I then brought my mind-body oriented practice into my higher education. I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Science from Oregon State University Cascades and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Bastyr University. I have completed further training in IFS, EMDR, Trauma specific care, and Buddhist Psychology, along with ongoing education in Mindfulness. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, and eating disorders.

Therapy is not a linear process and can include ups and downs. Taking the step of self-exploration takes immense courage. While I will serve as a guide for you in reaching your goals, ultimately it is always up to you how much effort you wish to put into therapy to achieve your desired results. My intention is to create a safe and nourishing environment for you to build self-efficacy, make meaning in your life, and connect to your true self.
