I help Oregonians like you, whether this is your first experience with therapy or you have worked with a counselor before. I take my cues from you, and together we will build a therapeutic relationship focused on achieving your goals. Whether you are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, disability and chronic illness, weight stigma, career questions, or other life transitions, I want to help you frame your story, make meaningful progress, and develop clarity.

I use gentle and experiential modalities including brainspotting, mindfulness, and somatic exercises, all designed to heal the relationship between the body and self as we process trauma and difficult life events.

I have a master's degree in counseling from Portland State University. I was educated as a clinical rehabilitation counselor (CRC), which means I was specifically trained to work with disabled and chronically ill clients. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon, which means that I have thousands of hours of experience. I am certified in brainspotting, which means I have extensive, personalized training in that modality.

I have worked with a wide-range of clients—BIPOC and white, adolescents, young, middle-aged, and older adults, people of all gender expressions and faiths, people experiencing complex trauma, and formerly incarcerated individuals. No matter who you are, my approach is compassionate, holistic, and strengths-based. I also want to help you develop mindful coping skills to nurture yourself even after our therapeutic relationship has ended.

To summarize my feelings about counseling...“Being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable."

I believe at their very core people have unique worth. I understand that when a person feels worthy their focus is less on survival and more on their own potential. I value the fact that seeking counseling and asking for help can be difficult. I understand as a counselor, it is a privilege and immense responsibility to enter in to another person's experience. I work together with my client toward the common goal of empowering them to find the internal strength and wisdom that already exists within them. To this end, I believe the client is the expert on themselves and as a counselor, I allow space to explore areas of their life that were either denied to awareness or distorted.

I honor diversity and advocate for people from all populations, with appropriate care given to people of color, people from low socio-economic status, people with disabilities, people that are from the LGBTQI+ population and people from a non-dominant language background. I believe that each individual has the right to find their purpose in life and know how finding their unique worth can affect their future possibilities.

Due to this philosophy I employ a comprehensive approach to counseling considering each individual’s needs. I utilize evidence-based techniques from Person-centered Theory to offer unconditional positive regard, warmth and openness; Narrative Therapy to understand that "the person is not the problem, but rather the problem is the problem,"; Gestalt therapy to bring awareness to what might be hidden from our view point; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to understand distorted thoughts and how they impact your life. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy to offer empowerment and hope for those who have experienced trauma.

I hold a Masters in Counseling from Oregon State University, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a National Certified Counselor. I uphold confidentiality and understand policy, laws and ethical standards in regards to privacy. This means when an individual confides in me they can trust that they have arrived at a serious audience.

Hi there! I’m Maria!

As a therapist, I’m deeply rooted in the principles of humanistic and existential therapies. My mission is to guide individuals toward self-discovery, personal growth, and becoming their most authentic selves. I earned my Master’s in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from George Fox University in 2024 and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Oregon State University.

Originally from northern Utah, I relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2016 and found my home in Oregon in 2017. I worked with new adults and teenagers during this time, realizing that many would greatly benefit from a non-judgmental space to process their experiences.

I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults on their healing journeys. I deeply understand the challenges they face and my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences and work toward self-discovery. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, I tailor my approach to meet their unique needs and goals. It’s a privilege to walk alongside others on their path to healing and resilience.

Olivia Dalke has spent her career working primarily in community mental health with a diverse population of individuals and groups recovering from crisis and trauma. In addition, Olivia has experience working with adults, adolescents, children and parents.

Olivia is whole-heartedly collaborative in her approach to counseling. She values meeting people exactly where they are and deciding where to go together. She values working with a wide range of different life experiences, transitions and disruptions and understands the difficulty of reaching out for support. In this productivity-driven society, Olivia has a particular passion for working with athletes, musicians, artists and creators who are experiencing or have experienced burnout or “stuckness” and related stress.

Olivia understands and implements the important work of her own cultural humility within the counseling relationship and pays close attention to the societal and cultural harms that are present for individuals within the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and Disabled communities. She acknowledges that sometimes, simply living in one’s own body is an act of resistance. Olivia honors the body’s experience by incorporating trauma-informed somatic practices into counseling.

In her free time, Olivia enjoys spending time in nature, reading, playing soccer and making music.

Olivia offers the following therapy, both in person and via telehealth:

- Individual

- EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing)

- Somatic

- Expressive

- Interpersonal neurobiology

- DBT

- Multicultural/Feminist
