Crystal Jeffers, LCSW

“Perhaps the biggest mistake I made in the past was that I believed love was about finding the right person. In reality, love is about becoming the right person. Don’t look for the person you want to spend your life with. Become the person you want to spend your life with.” Neil Strauss

I believe in you, and I’m excited to explore your dreams, interests, skills, strengths, values, successes, and personal uniqueness. I meet you where you’re at right now, and together we can decide what healing looks like.

We may explore mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, trauma work including psychoeducation about the effects of trauma on the body, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and ACT.

With therapy, you get what you put in. It isn’t easy, and I’m here to show you that you’re safe in our therapeutic relationship and during the time we spend together.

Education and lived experience:

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University and a Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University. I’m registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers (BLSW) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

I agree to abide by the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics, and the Oregon BLSW Social Work Laws and Rules. I have expertise in DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), ADHD treatment, and trauma treatment frameworks including somatic interventions. I have a strong equity lens and continue to learn how I can best serve everyone at intersections of race, ethnicity, economic status, spirituality, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and/or disability.

I have experience working alongside adults who face the challenges of Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, personality disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. Some of my personal lived experiences that inform my approach include direct trauma and family trauma related to mental health challenges, poverty, substance use, abandonment, grief and loss, and emotional and physical abuse.
