As you begin to have a healthier relationship with yourself, it will be easier to take ownership of your life and manage it more productively. I use a variety of methods, depending on the needs of clients. These methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, family systems therapy, grief work, journaling, guided imagery, coping and psychoeducation.

I graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  I then obtained my Master of Social Work from Washington University, in St. Louis. My background and experience have enabled me to develop skills in many areas of therapy, including helping people with anxiety, depression, social skills, High Functioning Autism, ADHD, chronic and acute illness, grief and loss. I have over twenty-five years’ experience as a social worker.  My career has been split between counseling people of all ages in the health care setting, counseling children in schools, and adults for depression and anxiety. I have extensive experience working with adults who experienced loss or reduction in quality of life, a diagnosis of a terminal illness, anticipatory grief, acute illnesses and change in life due to illness or injury. I have successfully worked with children 4 and up with grief, trauma, illness, physical impairments, depression, anxiety, high functioning autism and ADHD.  I also have undergone skilled training for assessing and counseling of clients with suspected dementia, memory loss, or traumatic brain injury.

My approach to therapy is flexible, customized and eclectic.  Each person is unique and will benefit from a variety of modalities.  I deeply believe all systems within a person need attention and care. We will look at all aspects of your life, recognizing your existing strengths and abilities.  Together we will improve your life from the inside out.
