Trans & Non-Binary Providers

Erin Butler CSWA

I enjoy the art of finding moments of joy, hope, humor, and fun in the midst of the messiest of times. I’ve become quite skilled in the art of transition(s) and of making meaning in the uncertain and difficult time of the in between. There is no singular path toward growth or change - Let’s work together to find yours!

I’m a queer trans Southern California kid who found home in the Sonoran Desert and in the wildness of the Pacific Northwest.

I’m a would-be animator who became a horseback riding instructor, who then received their Master of Social Work. I’ve been an LGBTQ youth crisis counselor and a Drug Court Child & Family Therapist, followed by a decade of nonprofit program management and leadership in HIV prevention & care.

My personal, educational, and professional experiences all inform my approach to therapy. Each session is a dedicated time & space uniquely designed for you. We’ll take time to build a foundation, using sessions to explore and identify key issues that you want to address. We’ll work in the context of your own life and find creative ways for you to heal and move toward change that honor your true self.

I work with youth (13+), young adults and adults who are looking for growth or change in their life. Issues that I specialize in: LGBTQ identity, self-acceptance, coming out; Perfectionism and shame; Depression; Navigating complex or difficult relationships; Workplace issues; Significant life changes; Grief and loss; Burnout and compassion fatigue—especially in public health, social work, and veterinary care
