Hello! My name is Katherine Hatfield and I am a professional counselor associate practicing in the Portland, Oregon area. As a therapist, my practices are deeply rooted in client centered practices allowing clients to guide their individual treatment.
I earned my Bachelor of Psychology at Oregon State University and completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University.
As a counselor I use a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to client needs. I often incorporate modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy skills and family systems in sessions with clients.
I have experience doing counseling and case management in many settings which include residential treatment, schools, community centers, and community mental health.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents with depression, anxiety, trauma related disorders and suicidal ideation. I also commonly work with clients on improving interpersonal relationships, understanding of self, and developing coping strategies for life's challenges.
