I believe that no one knows your life better than you and you know your experiences best. With this as our foundation, we will work together to build goals and a treatment plan that best address your concerns. A session with me may include:
*Breathing exercises to allow the body to feel safe and comfortable while we actively work to heal the emotional and psychological wounds that are impacting your life.
*I may ask you to imagine the life you hope for and if you are artistically inclined, we might use creative expression to examine your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
*I may also challenge you to analyze your beliefs in different ways to find more clarity.
*I believe that like our other 5 senses, our emotions and feelings are providing information on the world around and within us. So I may ask you to join me in exploring what they might be trying to tell you, with compassionate curiosity.
*A safe and validating therapeutic environment so we can work together to achieve the healing you seek.
While I am not a miracle worker who can take away your worries and pain with the snap of my finger, I CAN hold it with you and you will not be alone.
I received my Master’s of Social Work from George Fox University in Portland, Oregon and my Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. As a Clinical Social Work Associate, CSWA, I am working toward acquiring my Clinical License under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor. I have experience working with children ages 10 and up, teens, and their families, as well as adults and elders 65+.
