Welcome! My name is Tessa Potter, and I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working as therapist for the last 5 years in outpatient and school-based settings. I'm a native Oregonian and am now raising my family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
In my free-time, you'll find me spending lots of time with my husband and kids, traveling for new adventures, trying new recipes, and reading any genre of book. I graduated with my Master's of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2018.
I began my career as a school-based therapist working with children ages 5-18. After transitioning into a group practice, I have gained more experience working with adults while continuing to work with children and their families in therapy. I now serve people from age 5 through adulthood. At the heart of my practice is a person-centered approach that accepts people non-judgmentally with a warm and authentic presence. I work to individualize treatment approaches and use play-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It is always my goal to grow and learn more tools to bring into therapy and am expanding my knowledge on mindfulness and DBT.
I have worked with people experiencing a variety of stressors including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting, grief, and other life transitions.
My focus is for clients to drive their own healing while I work to be the support in the passenger's seat. Through collaboration, clients prioritize the goals that are important to them and will make a lasting impact on their quality of life.
Our time together is a safe place for people of all backgrounds who can be genuine in themselves without judgement. My priority is to build an unique relationship with each person to facilitate healing and growth.
